Summer is leaving as the days are slowly growing darker. There is a chill in the air and a feeling of change taking place. The magical season of Autumn begins this Saturday September 22, 2012 on the Autumn Equinox when day and night are in balance.
After this equinox, days will start to grow darker and colder, as we head towards Winter Solstice. This is the darkest day of the year. The colors of the trees start to change now. The landscape becomes a beautiful palette of color before all the leaves fall off and trees prepare for Winter slumber.
The Autumn Equinox is a great time to reflect on balance and enjoy the season's beauty, as the sun enters Libra, the astrological sign of balance and beauty.
This is also the pagan sabbat of Mabon, the mid-harvest festival on the Wheel of the Year. The last harvest festival will be Samhain October 31, which also marks the end of the year and the beginning of the wheel in Celtic tradition.
Mabon is a pagan season of thanksgiving, when we can enjoy a good meal from our local seasonal harvest. This is a time to be thankful for the nourishment we have received from Mother Earth for this year's harvest. Mabon is also a great time to reflect on all that we are thankful for in our lives this year, and what we have been blessed with. We reflect on what we have harvested in our lives as well.
Some simple ways you can celebrate Mabon and the Autumn Equinox:
*Enjoy a delicious meal of locally grown seasonal food with family and friends. Say a meal blessing over your dinner with gratitude.
*Bake something for the Autumn season such as fresh bread or baked goods with pumpkin or apples.
*Take a nature walk and notice the changing season colors and enjoy nature's beauty.
*Reflect on balance and how to put more balance back into your life.
*Write an Autumn Gratitude list.
*Write Thank You letters to people in your life this year you are thankful for.
*Do an Autumn Equinox meditation enjoying the energy of balance.
*Make Autumn crafts.
*Decorate your home for the season.
*Burn a candle scented with apple, cinnamon, or pumpkin enjoying the scent and warmth.
*Volunteer your time or donate things like food to those in need
*Have an Autumn Equinox or Mabon ritual either in a group or as a solitary.
However you celebrate the beginning of the lovely Autumn season and Mabon, may is be a beautiful, abundant, blessed season for you!

New Moon and Summer Solstice Blessings!
Today, June 19, is a New Moon in Gemini starting a new lunar cycle of energy a day before the Summer Solstice tomorrow June 21.
This makes for a great day to start riding the wave of new energy as a new season begins on the Wheel of the Year.
The Summer Solstice marks the longest daylight of the year when we have the most sun at the highest point. After this solstice, the days slowly begin to get darker until the Autumn Equinox on September 22 when day and night become equal and the season of Autumn begin.
The Summer Solstice is called Litha by many modern day pagans. It is also called Midsummer, which is celebrated throughout Europe still.
Tonight is also Midsummer's Eve before the Summer Solstice Midsummer day. This evening is a magical time like Samhain when the veil between the physical and spiritual realms is thin. Like Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream fairy folk can be seen in misty, green forests and even in urban gardens according to lore. You can have prophetic dreams of the future tonight. This is also a great time for Divination practices such as the Tarot and Rune and to cleanse any crystals.
Summer Solstice or Litha is a time to celebrate the light overcoming the darkness. It is a time for playfulness and feasting as we celebrate the lasting sunlight. You can wake up early to great the sunshine as is rises on the longest day of the year. Give thanks to the abundance and fertility of Mother Earth and in your now.
On the day of the Summer Solstice set some intentions and goals for now until Autumn Equinox. With the New Moon the day before the Summer Solstice this year, you will have a lot of energy helping to give you a push to begin to manifest these during the Summer season. Light a yellow candle in honor of the Sun and state your intentions and goals out loud. Then start working on them enjoying this boost of energy.
The Summer season is a time to play and have more fun outdoors enjoying nature and the elements. Think of ways you will enjoy and add fun to this season in your life this year.
However you celebrate this bright, joyous, magical day, have a blessed Summer Solstice!

Blessings of Spring and Renewal of Ostara!
Purple crocuses and sunny yellow daffodil's
have been popping out of the soil to greet these
longer, warmer days. Birds are starting to sing a
song of Spring. The air feels more energized
and vibrant.
Here in New York City Spring weather has come
early and it has been a warmer than average March.
Tuesday March 20 is the Spring Equinox marking
the beginning of Spring and a balance between light
and dark. After this day, each day gains a little more
light and gets longer until Summer Solstice, the longest
day of the year.
This day also begins the astrological new year
cycle in Aries, the youngest sign of the zodiac.
Pagans celebrate Ostara on the Spring Equinox.
This is a day to celebrate fertility, renewal, rebirth,
balance, and harmony. It is also a great day for
purification of of one's body and home.
The Goddess Ostara or Eostre is can be called upon in ritual.
She is an Anglo-Saxon Maiden Goddess of Spring, East,
Resurrection, and Rebirth. The name for this pagan sabbat
is in honor of this Goddess. White rabbits and eggs are
sacred to Ostara.
To celebrate the Spring Equinox take a walk in the
fresh Spring air. Notice all the signs of Spring beginning
in your neighborhood. Say a prayer of thanks for
renewal of nature blooming and the renewal of life and
light.
This is a great day to reflect on balance and harmony.
Is your life in full balance right now? What areas could use
more balance? In what way can you achieve this balance
this Spring? What ways can you bring more harmony
in your daily life and your relationship with others?
Rituals around renewal and rebirth are a wonderful
and powerful way to connect to this energy of Ostara.
Create an altar for Goddess Ostara using symbols of her such as
white rabbits and colored eggs. Ask her for guidance
as you seek Spring's renewal and rebirth in your life.
Ostara is also a great time to connect with fairies.
Leave libations of milk and honey for these
nature spirits as a gift of gratitude outdoors.
Take a purification bath with sea salt and
lavendar. Bless yourself and your home with
sage.
Do some Spring cleaning of all the dull energy
that has collected in your body and home during
the Winter months starting on Ostara. This is a great time
to start a detox diet. Throw out and organize any
clutter including your closets. Let new positive energy into
your home.
Wear a new outfit on Spring Equinox to celebrate and
symbolize your own renewal and rebirth.
However you celebrate this first day of Spring,
may it be blessed and fill you with renewed energy
and the magick of this blooming, lovely season!

New Moon Aquarius Blessings
Today marks the New Moon in Aquarius. Being a Sun and Rising
sign Aquarius I really like this New Moon energy.
This is a great new moon for new beginnings in starting
or joining new groups since Aquarius rules the collective and groups.
It is also a great time to think of new ways to volunteer
and contribute to your community with the humanitarian energy
of the Water Bearer sign.
Aquarius also is about the BIG picture so this is a great time
to think big and start new BIG picture goals as well as evaluate
the larger view of your life this new year.
This is also a great new moon to allow light to shine on what
makes you unique and connect to your individuality. Solar Aquarians
are quirky, unique individuals living life in their own way outside the norm.
Light a candle tonight, meditate, and allow the new energy of this
Aquarian New Moon to shine in your life. Bright Blessings!

January 9, 2012 Cold Full Moon in Cancer
Tonight January 9, 2012 is the Cold Full Moon in Cancer.
January brings the cold, dark Winter time of year. The
warm celebration of holidays around the light of December
have ended. The New Year has brought the hope for new beginnings
and a fresh start. Now we face the time of year when we
can slow down and stay warm indoors. It is a good time for
reflection as we work with the new year quietly. It is a good time
to reconnect with our spiritual practice, meditate, and be introspective.
We can allow the energy of rest and hibernation be with us just as
the animals are in their Winter slumber.
Full Moon in Cancer lights up aspects of home, nurturing,
family, mother, watery emotions and protection themes in our lives.
We can release anything that may be in the way of nurturing ourselves,
any negative emotions, or family and home issues under this Cancer
Full Moon. This is also a great time to do a cleansing ritual or take a
hot purifying bath. You can purify your self and home with sage.
As the first full moon of the year this is a great time to work on releasing
in these Cancer areas and make room for new beginnings on the first new moon.
May you have a warm, bright, nurturing full Moon! Blessings
