New Moon and Summer Solstice Blessings!

Today, June 19, is a New Moon in Gemini starting a new lunar cycle of energy a day before the Summer Solstice tomorrow June 21.

This makes for a great day to start riding the wave of new energy as a new season begins on the Wheel of the Year.

The Summer Solstice marks the longest daylight of the year when we have the most sun at the highest point. After this solstice, the days slowly begin to get darker until the Autumn Equinox on September 22 when day and night become equal and the season of Autumn begin.

The Summer Solstice is called Litha by many modern day pagans. It is also called Midsummer, which is celebrated throughout Europe still.

Tonight is also Midsummer's Eve before the Summer Solstice Midsummer day. This evening is a magical time like Samhain when the veil between the physical and spiritual realms is thin. Like Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream fairy folk can be seen in misty, green forests and even in urban gardens according to lore. You can have prophetic dreams of the future tonight. This is also a great time for Divination practices such as the Tarot and Rune and to cleanse any crystals.

Summer Solstice or Litha is a time to celebrate the light overcoming the darkness. It is a time for playfulness and feasting as we celebrate the lasting sunlight. You can wake up early to great the sunshine as is rises on the longest day of the year. Give thanks to the abundance and fertility of Mother Earth and in your now.

On the day of the Summer Solstice set some intentions and goals for now until Autumn Equinox. With the New Moon the day before the Summer Solstice this year, you will have a lot of energy helping to give you a push to begin to manifest these during the Summer season. Light a yellow candle in honor of the Sun and state your intentions and goals out loud. Then start working on them enjoying this boost of energy.

The Summer season is a time to play and have more fun outdoors enjoying nature and the elements. Think of ways you will enjoy and add fun to this season in your life this year.
